Most people under 30 only have experience with 1–3 companies. With limited exposure with different companies, it might be hard to tell if your work environment is as healthy as possible.

Here are 5 signs you are in a healthy work environment

1 — You are open with your manager

You know you can be open with your manager if you feel like they care about your well-being. If you can chat with your manager about more topics than just work, it means they see you as a unique human being and not a working commodity.

But if you feel shy to bring up issues at work or ask your manager for help, then your relationship with your manager can be improved. Try making small talk and you’ll both get to know each other better.

2 — You have supportive teammates

Your teammates are supportive if they’re approachable and willing to help you. The best teammates are the ones that help you without making you feel dumb. If you’re also excited to lend a hand to teammates who are struggling, that’s a sign you’re collaborating well with your team.

Teammates that make you feel judged or uncomfortable can make work tougher, especially if you have to see them everyday. You can bond with your teammates better outside of work such as off-sites or happy hours. It’s always easier to help people when you know them a little better.

3 — You feel relaxed after work
